We’re offering a bright and spacious 18 m² room in our lovely shared apartment, just a minutes’ walk from Oerlikon train station - perfect for anyone who enjoys easy and quick connections around Zurich and beyond.

The apartment is on the second floor (note: not wheelchair accessible) and is in a lively area close to shops, restaurants, and everything you might need.


You'll be sharing the apartment with two friendly flat mates:


Lea (31, f) from Basel, Switzerland and Amit (26, m) from Kerala, India - both PhD students. We all work full-time, so the flat is usually calm during the week. Now and then, we’ll have a spontaneous dinner or play a board game, but in general, we respect each other’s space and busy schedules. If you're someone who enjoys a warm but independent living environment, this could be a great fit. I’m moving out to live with my partner, otherwise I’d happily stay!


A few things about the flat culture that matter to us:


We value hygiene and tidiness in the shared spaces - especially the kitchen and bathroom. While we do have someone who comes by regularly to clean the flat, that doesn’t mean we neglect keeping things clean in the meantime. Everyone does their part to keep the apartment comfortable and pleasant to live in.

It’s also important to mention: this is _not_ a party flat. We really appreciate the quiet and peaceful atmosphere the flat offers, especially since we all lead fairly busy lives. It’s a place where we can withdraw, recharge, and enjoy a sense of calm.

We share kitchen devices and essentials like sugar, oil, salt, etc., and have a cleaning schedule for smaller tasks like taking out the garbage - which we expect everyone to follow.


Rent and costs:

The rent is CHF 945 per month, plus monthly variable costs for the cleaning service and around CHF 13 for WiFi. So, depending on the cleaning costs, you can expect total monthly expenses to be a bit over CHF 1,000.


Who we're looking for:


We’re looking for someone interested in a longer-term stay (1 year+), who’s a non-smoker with no pets, and has a stable income. It’s also expected that the new flat mate becomes part of the rental contract - in other words, you’ll be one of the main tenants with equal rights and responsibilities. A deposit of three months' rent will be required as well as an extract from the debt collection register.

The official move-in date is
August 1st, 2025
, and this date will be part of the contract, so it's not negotiable. Of course, you’re welcome to bring your things a few days earlier or later if that helps with the logistics.
