We are looking for a new flatmate, or even preferred would be a couple! as one of the 2-room clusters inside our flat will be free from November 2, 2024, but we might be flexible with the dates, so if you need some weeks before or after please share your needs :)

The 2-room cluster is ideal if you like own privacy as your room is already like a small flat, but you should also enjoy having people around as we are 6 in the big flat plus you.
Our apartment is part of the cooperative Mehr als Wohnen, which is a nice project that was developed with a non-profit intention, but rather life-quality intention.


Cluster:

The cluster (2-rooms + bathroom) is modern and big: it has 62m2, tall roof, two big door-windows heading south-west (more sun in the morning), one of them with balcony, own private bathroom with shower, a mini kitchen with sink and small refrigerator. It is not furnished so you must organise your own furniture.


Flat and Areal:

The room is inside an apartment with 6 private rooms and the common spaces: a large kitchen, a big shared office space, a large balcony with a lot of sun, a living room and foyer space. We also have a guest room with own bathroom, which we use to invite visitors.
The cooperative has also nice projects for the residents and run by the residents, such as a wood workshop, yoga, salsa, gym, concerts, sauna, etc. So if you wish, you can participate or organise projects.


Costs:

The rent has a fix cost of 2480 CHF, and includes the side costs: electricity, Internet, TV-Radio (Serafe), a cleaning service for the common spaces, liability insurance, household insurance, rental liability insurance, insurance for driving foreign vehicles, and also a contribution to the Mobiliarfond, which is a budget we use to buy new furniture, tools or repair / maintain them. If you are interested, for a little extra cost you can arrange to have your room cleaned by the cleaning service person as well.
Important to know!: A requirement to move in, is to pay a larger deposit of CHF 22,572 called Anteilkapital, which you will get back when you move out and with interests. This is a requirement from the cooperative to keep it running nice.


About us:

We are 6 people (guys and girls), with age around 30s, some a bit older or younger, but all friendly positive souls :). We are quite an international group that speaks mainly English or German, depending on who is around, but we can also speak a bit of Hungarian, Spanish, French and some other languages. We work in different fields, from mechanical or water engineering, social work, sustainable agriculture, nuclear power, ... We share eating time and space with whoever is around, and sometimes we also organise events and invite friends or the neighbours. Every week, we receive local organic veggies which all can use. We like to keep the apartment nice, joyful and harmonic, so for that we share some activities like cleaning, recycling, finances, etc. And also, we have meetings once in a while to share anything relevant, plan anything or make decisions.


About you:

You will have preference if you are financially stable and if its a fact that you will stay in Zurich (at least 2.5 next years!), as it takes a big effort to find the right people. It is also important for us that you are a respectful person, enjoy living as a family, and have the capacity to discuss any emergent topics with maturity and avoid taking things personal, as the goal is to have harmony and avoid tensions between us.


Selection process:

We will be sharing the ad, clarifying questions and organising visits.
